Pre-landscaping

Pre-landscaping refers to the planning, analysis and site scraping work carried out before any actual landscaping begins. This phase is about creativity and customisation, making each outdoor area personalised to every project. By assessing the site attributes and combining landscaping plans, pre-landscaping lays the groundwork for a unique and functional landscape.

  • Design advice & landscaping plans: detailed landscaping plans for redesign or planning consent
  • Personalised plant purchasing visits: choose plants that you like and gain advice on garden planting to see how to incorporate them into your landscape design
  • Site scrapes: for new build land development
  • Excavations & land levelling: for concrete pads, retaining walls and decking
  • Soil & AP imports: for lawns, planting, drainage and path/driveway foundations

Hard-scaping

Hard landscaping encompasses the non-living, structural elements of an outdoor space. This phase focuses on functionality, form and durability within landscaping services since it involves materials such as wood, steel, stone and concrete. Hard landscaping elements are designed to withstand the test of time and weather, which can otherwise damage a landscape.

  • Driveways: rural & chip including coloured concrete
  • Shingle & chip pads: utility areas and garden paths
  • Decking: entry, entertainment spaces
  • Aluminium fencing: Boundaryline, Fentec, etc
  • Timber fencing: fence staining and timber garden edging, lapped paling with capping, batten style, post and rail fencing
  • Gates: farm gates, timber gates, steel frames & aluminium gates
  • Concrete: paths and concrete pads, exposed aggregate concrete, colour shot, expansion cuts & sealing
  • Garden paving: basic paving to high end porcelain
  • Garden edging: for clean defined areas
  • Garden retaining walls: definition, soil erosion and level changes
  • Steps: concrete, floating, paved – basic to architectural
  • Brick & block walls: includes plastering & painting, privacy and feature walls
  • Vegetable garden boxes: macrocarpa, oregon & more, any size, customs
  • Landscaping features: finding the perfect pieces to complement a landscape design

Soft-scaping

Soft landscaping, on the other hand, relates to the horticultural side of a landscape and includes everything that grows and changes over time. This garden planting phase improves the outdoor area through plants, flowers and greenery supported by garden irrigation systems to create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Soft landscaping is one of the most important parts of any garden landscaping project because it often attracts the most attention.

  • Seeded lawn: basic seeded lawns (seasonal)
  • Hydroseed lawn: mulch seed spray (seasonal)
  • Ready lawn: premium option for an even headstart
  • Management & treatments: fertilisation and weed spraying
  • Garden planting: full property plant outs
  • Espalier: install of espalier wire or mesh for plant support and living walls
  • Irrigation: temporary and permanent garden irrigation systems for lawns and raised garden beds, to suit all budgets

Aftercare

Aftercare is an essential aspect of landscaping services. This phase includes post-installation care, maintenance and protective measures such as weed spraying that ensure your garden planting thrives. Effective aftercare helps plants become established, maintains the stability of hard landscaping such as retaining walls and concrete pads and preserves the overall design, ensuring the long-term success of your landscape investment.

  • Plant establishment: regular watering, feeding and monitoring to help new plants establish strong roots
  • Plant maintenance: pruning, mulching and plant replacement as needed to maintain healthy growth
  • Plant protection: ongoing weed spraying, pest and disease control to protect plants and soil health
  • Hardscape care: inspection and upkeep of hard landscaping such as concrete paths, retaining walls, decking, pergolas and garden edging
  • Seasonal care: seasonal maintenance and adjustments to preserve the intended design and appearance
  • Garden tidies & lawn mowing: coming this year

Easy to communicate with. Did the job properly, on time and passed some savings on in the final invoice. We'll be very happy to use Leading Landscapes if we need any similar work done in the future. The lawn is gorgeous

Tom

Simon and Elizabeth were amazing to work with, they were very communicative. They were very knowledgeable about the land covenants of our area and worked closely with us to adhere to them. They did and amazing job and went over and above the call of duty.

The initial job was completed on time - even though the weather was super hot, Simon came in later in evening to complete the job. They have worked with us to get our pathway right for our nursery children - which has required some additional research and time.
